Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1985:
Gatunek szeroko rozprzestrzeniony w całej Europie, na Syberii, w Korei, Japonii, na Sachalinie i Wyspach Kurylskich, notowany ponadto z Algierii i Ameryki Północnej. W Europie w miarę posuwania się na wschód i północ areału gatunkowego coraz częściej spotykany, docierający w Fennoskandii do skrajnych prowincji północnych. W Polsce występuje prawdopodobnie na całym obszarze, nie jest znany jednak jeszcze z niektórych krain. Zasiedla tereny nizinne i niższe położenia górskie do wysokości około 1500 m n.p.m. Larwy odbywają rozwój w zmurszałym drewnie pni, złomów i pniaków drzew liściastych i iglastych.
