Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1980:
Gatunek rozmieszczony w prawie całej Europie, prócz jej skrajnych części północnych i południowych, wykazany również z Syberii. W Polsce prócz wyższych partii górskich występuje prawdopodobnie na całym obszarze, ale brak jeszcze udokumentowanych danych z wielu krain. Występuje głównie na terenach otwartych: polach, łąkach, polanach leśnych, pobrzeżach lasu i dróg. Kusak drapieżny, atakujący drobne owady. Znajdowany pod ekskrementami końskimi i krowimi, rozkładającymi się szczątkami roślinnymi, w kompoście i gnijących grzybach.
