Taxon description
Heintze 1990:
Gatunek, prowadzący zupełnie podobny tryb życia i w tym samym czasie jak poprzedni (Platypteryx falcataria), żywiący się również liśćmi brzozy i olchy, jednak znacznie od poprzedniego rzadszy i występujący lokalnie. Gąsienice obu gatunków są do siebie podobne. Różnią się najbardziej po ostatnim linieniu, po którym gąsienice P. falcataria mają na grzbietowej stronie ciała siodło brązowe, gąsienice P. curvatula czarnofioletowe. Zimowanie jak u gatunku poprzedniego.
