Taxon description
Europa, Kaukaz, Azja Środkowa i Bliski Wschód. Notowany także z Dalekiego Wschodu, lecz dane te odnoszą się do Sappaphis piri Matsumura, 1917.
Gatunek holocykliczny i różnodomny. Migruje z gruszy — Pirus communis L. na przyziemne i podziemne części przytulii, marzanki i lnu. U nas notowany dotąd jedynie z gruszy, na której powoduje charakterystyczne deformacje liści.
