Szeroko rozmieszczony w Europie zachodniej, środkowej i południowej, sięga na wschód po Gruzję, Irak, Iran, Turkmenię, Uzbekistan, Tadżykistan, Kirgizję i Afganistan. Wykazany nadto z Tunezji, Egiptu i Obszaru Etiopskiego.
