Taxon description
Heintze 1990:
Motyl dość rzadki, spotykany pojedynczo na brzegach lasów liściastych, w parkach, na brzegach rzek i polanach leśnych. Lata od końca VII do połowy X. Gąsienice tego gatunku żerują od VI do VIII na brzozie, olszy, lipie, wierzbie i topoli. Oprzędy dla przepoczwarczenia się budują między liśćmi roślin żywicielskich nad ziemią. Zimują jaja. Motyle tego gatunku różnią się od motyli E. erosaria głównie cytrynowożółtym ubarwieniem łuseczek na tułowiu, a także innym układem pasów na skrzydłach oraz kształtem krawędzi skrzydeł.
