Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1986c:
Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony w niemal całej Europie, występujący w południowej części kontynentu głównie w okolicach górzystych, notowany również z Kaukazu. W Polsce wykazywany z nielicznych stanowisk w różnych częściach kraju, jednak większość danych o rozmieszczeniu opiera się na znaleziskach sprzed przeszło stu lat, toteż wymagają one potwierdzenia nowymi materiałami. Spotykany głównie w stodołach, stajniach, szopach i mieszkaniach, przeważnie wśród odpadków słomy i siana, niekiedy poławiany na swobodzie w gniazdach trzmieli, myszy i świstaków oraz w dziuplach drzew.
