Taxon description
Heintze 1990:
Motyl pospolicie spotykany od V do VII. Gąsienice żerują od VII do X na wielu roślinach zielnych, jak szczaw, pokrzywa, jasnota, wierzbówka, niecierpek, a także na malinach, jeżynach i paprociach. Znane są dwa rodzaje ubarwienia gąsienic: zielone i ciemnoliliowe. Na zimę gąsienice zakopują się płytko w ziemi, gdzie przepoczwarczają się. Motyl występuje niekiedy częściowo w drugim pokoleniu w VIII i IX.
