Gatunek szeroko rozprzestrzeniony w Podobszarze Śródziemnomorskim, na północ, izolowanymi stanowiskami docierający do Moraw i Słowacji, notowany ponadto z Kaukazu, Syrii, Iranu, Turkiestanu i Syberii. W Polsce z całą pewnością nie stwierdzony. Jedyna wzmianka sprzed około 140 lat o występowaniu tego gatunku na Śląsku Dolnym nie została później potwierdzona. Omawiany gatunek nie był zaliczony do chrząszczy śląskich przez J. Gerhardta (1910).
