Taxon description
Heintze 1990:
Gatunek pospolity, spotykany pojedynczo w różnych środowiskach otwartych i prześwitach leśnych. Motyle latają od połowy VI do połowy VIII. Gąsienice żerują na różnych roślinach zielnych i krzewach od VIII do V z przerwą na sen zimowy. Charakteryzują się niezmiennym ubarwieniem od postaci młodocianej. Poczwarki przebywają w oprzędach na ziemi lub płytko pod jej powierzchnią. W hodowli uzyskuje się częściowe drugie pokolenie motyli od połowy X do XII.
