Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1997:
Gatunek obejmujący zasięgiem południową i środkową część Europy oraz południową Fennoskandię; notowany nadto z Algierii i Maroka. W Polsce spotykany sporadycznie i dość rzadko, zarówno na niżu, jak i na wyżynach. Ryjkowiec ten jest poławiany od maja do listopada — na łąkach, pastwiskach, miedzach, przydrożach, brzegach wód oraz w lasach, zaroślach i rowach — według danych z piśmiennictwa na babce zwyczajnej — Plantago maior L., przetaczniku leśnym — Veronica officinalis L., przetaczniku bobowniczku — V. veccabunga L. i przetaczniku ożankowym — V. chamaedrys L. Jego biologia nie jest dokładniej poznana.
