Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1981:
Gatunek zamieszkujący głównie północną i środkową Europę, na południe docierający do północnych Włoch, Jugosławii i Rumunii, wykazywany również z Kaukazu i wschodniej Syberii. Na ogół uważany za gatunek borealno-górski, w Fennoskandii docierający do skrajnych prowincji północnych. W Polsce znany z pojedynczych stanowisk, tylko w Sudetach i Beskidach liczniej poławiany. Występuje na drzewach iglastych i liściastych w hubach wielu gatunków z rodzaju żagiew — Polyporus (Mich.) Fr., hubiak — Fomes Fr., wrośniak — Trametes (L.) Fr. i gmatwek — Daedalea (Pers.) Fr.
