Taxon description
Heintze 1990:
Motyl rzadki, spotykany przede wszystkim w lasach dębowych. Lata w V i VI. Gąsienice, początkowo czarnobrązowe, jaśniejące w miarę wzrostu, po ostatnim linieniu zielone z różowymi plamami, żerują na dębach, bukach, brzozach i grabach w VII i VIII. Oprzędy budują podobnie, jak widłogonki, wgryzając się w korę drzew i używając pogryzionych drobin jako budulca. Zimują poczwarki. Samce motyla tego gatunku mają pierzaste czułki.
