Burakowski et al. 1976:
Bardzo pospolity gatunek, występujący powszechnie w całej Europie, w Fennoskandii sięgający do skrajnej północy. W górach na kontynencie przekraczający górną granicę lasu. Poławiany w różnego rodzaju wodach zarówno stojących jak i wolno płynących.
