Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1983:

Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony w Europie Środkowej i otaczających ją krajach sąsiednich, wykazywany również z Wysp Brytyjskich, południowych prowincji Fennoskandii i Syberii południowej. W Polsce chrząszcz bardzo rzadko spotykany, notowany tylko z kilku stanowisk w północno-zachodniej części kraju. Uważany za gatunek słonawiskowy, występujący na pobrzeżach morskich i słonawiskach śródlądowych, ale notowany niekiedy również z pobrzeży wód słodkich — szlamistych miejsc nad jeziorami, stawami i kałużami.
