Taxon description
Heintze 1990:
Motyl pospolity, lata w VI do końca VIII. Gąsienice, żerujące na wielu gatunkach roślin zielnych od jesieni do V z przerwą na sen zimowy, budują płytko w ziemi mocne, gęste oprzędy, w których zamieniają się w poczwarki. Podobnie do gąsienic innych gatunków światłówek prowadzą ukryty tryb życia, dorosłe żerują nocą, wykazują jednak w porównaniu z poprzednimi gatunkami (Caradrina morpheus, Caradrina selini,[Caradrina clavipalpis]] szczególną nieruchliwość. Nawet wyraźnie zaniepokojone niechętnie zwijają się w pozycji obronnej.
