Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1976:
Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony w środkowej i północnej Europie, w Fennoskandii dociera do skrajnej północy. Dokładne rozmieszczenie zarówno ogólne, jak i w Polsce słabo poznane z uwagi na duże podobieństwo omawianego gatunku do Hydraena (Hydraena) riparia Kug., co może być przyczyną błędnych oznaczeń. Warunki ekologiczne słabo zbadane, w Polsce poławiany w okolicach Cieszyna (Wanka 1927) na bardzo wilgotnych albo szlamiastych miejscach w wysychającym rowie, gdzie w dużej liczbie osobników wysiewany był z butwiejących liści.
