Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1992:
Gatunek rozpowszechniony w całej Europie, w Fennoskandii docierający do skrajnych prowincji północnych, wykazany też z Afryki Północnej, Kaukazu, Syberii, Chin i Japonii. Zakorek świerkowiec zamieszkuje całą Polskę z wyjątkiem wyższych położeń górskich. Głównym żywicielem jest świerk, spotykano również sporadycznie na sośnie i modrzewiu. Chrząszcz opada głównie leżaninę i pniaki, w uprawach żeruje na szyi korzeniowej i strzałkach młodych drzew iglastych.
