Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1992:
Gatunek rozmieszczony w całej Europie i Azji Północnej, notowany także z Ameryki Północnej. Zasiedla zarówno tereny nizinne, jak i górzyste. W Polsce polesiak obramowany jest zaliczany do najpospolitszych korników, rozprzestrzeniony w całym kraju, nie notowany jeszcze tylko z Kotliny Nowotarskiej. Spotykany na wszystkich drzewach iglastych z wyjątkiem cisa. Cykl rozwojowy jednoroczny. Chodnik macierzysty jednoramienny, zwykle zakrzywiony na początku w kształcie buta. Żerowisko odbija się w bielu. Postacie dojrzałe roją się w kwietniu i na początku maja.
