Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1980:
Szeroko rozpowszechniony gatunek od krajów śródziemnomorskich przez środkową Europę aż do południowych części Anglii, Szwecji i Finlandii, notowany również z Azji Mniejszej i Ameryki Północnej. W Polsce znany z nielicznych, rozproszonych stanowisk. Zamieszkuje w murszejącym drewnie starych, przegrzybiałych pni i w spróchniałych pieńkach drzew liściastych, rzadziej świerków. Spotykany zwłaszcza w dziuplach zasiedlanych przez ptaki, niekiedy również w ściółce, pod opadłym listowiem i mchem porastającym stare drzewa.
