Taxon description
Gatunek zamieszkujący południową i środkową Europę oraz południową część północnej Europy, wykazywany także z Kaukazu. W Polsce rzadko spotykany, notowany z nielicznych stanowisk na terenach, nizinnych i górzystych. Występuje pod korą drzew iglastych, gdzie prowadzi drapieżny tryb życia polując na larwy owadów; niekiedy spotykany na kwitnących bylinach, na przykład na parzydle leśnym — Aruncus silvestre Kost.
