Taxon description
Heintze 1990:
Motyl pospolity w lasach mieszanych, lata od V do VII. Gąsienica żeruje od VII do IX na liściach dębu, brzozy, olchy, leszczyny, jarzębiny, buka, maliny i jeżyny. Wyżera w liściach oczka, pozostawiając często cienką błonkę naskórka. Poczwarka przyczepiona przędzą do gałęzi za pokrywy skrzydeł i kremaster, zimuje na roślinie żywicielskiej. Motyl występuje niekiedy w dwu pokoleniach.
