Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1992:
Gatunek rozmieszczony głownie w środkowej części Europy, na północ docierający do Wysp Brytyjskich, Danii, południowych prowincji Szwecji, a na południe do Hiszpanii i Jugosławii, notowany ponadto z Kaukazu. W Polsce, chociaż nie znany jeszcze z niektórych krain, występuje prawdopodobnie na całym obszarze prócz wyższych partii górskich. Występuje w półcienistych lasach i zaroślach. Rośliną żywicielską tego gatunku jest szczyr trwały — Mercurialis perennis L. Larwa żeruje w podstawie łodygi. Przepoczwarczenie następuje w końcu lipca i na początku sierpnia. Imago ukazuje się w drugiej połowie sierpnia i we wrześniu. Zimuje przy podstawie roślin.
