Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1990b:

Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony w zachodniej części Palearktyki od Francji aż po Mongolię; w Europie północna granica rozsiedlenia przebiega przez południową Skandynawię, republiki bałtyckie ZSRR i okolice Moskwy. W Europie Środkowej jest najczęściej spotykanym gatunkiem omawianego rodzaju. W Polsce, aczkolwiek nie jest znany jeszcze ze wszystkich krain, występuje prawdopodobnie na całym obszarze prócz wyższych partii górskich. Zasiedla widne zarośla, suche łąki, pastwiska, miedze i suche zbocza. Według piśmiennictwa roślinami żywicielskimi są koniczyna pagórkowa — Trifolium montanum L., komonica zwyczajna — Lotus corniculatus L. oraz inne motylkowate, poza tym spotykany na kwitnących krzewach, roślinach baldaszkowatych oraz kłosach zbóż.
