Taxon description
Gatunek rozmieszczony od Wysp Brytyjskich i południowych prowincji Fennoskandii aż do południowej Europy, notowany również z Kaukazu i zachodniej Syberii. Zasiedla nasłonecznione miejsca zarówno na otwartych jak i zadrzewionych terenach. Spotykany przeważnie na glebach gliniastych i torfowych. Prowadzi skryty sposób życia pod kamieniami, liśćmi, między korzeniami roślin, niekiedy jednak wdrapuje się wyżej na rośliny, skąd bywa poławiany czerpakiem.
