Taxon description
Europa, Zakaukazie, Anatolia, Azja Środkowa i zachodnia Syberia; zawleczony do Ameryki Północnej. Notowany także z Dalekiego Wschodu, lecz dane odnoszą się do odrębnego pod gatunku Longicaudus trirhodus thalictri (Matsumura, 1918).
Gatunek holocykliczny i różnodomny. Migruje z róży — Rosa canina L. na orlik pospolity — Aquilegia vulgaris L. i rutewki — Thalictrum aquilegiifolium L. i Thalictrum minus L. Notowany jako wektor kilku chorób wirusowych.
