Taxon description
Rozmieszczony prawie kosmopolitycznie, ale na Dalekim Wschodzie i w południowo-wschodniej Azji zastąpiony przez inne gatunki z grupy «ibarae-rosaeformis».
Gatunek holocykliczny i różnodomny. Migruje fakultatywnie z róż — Rosa canina L., Rosa coriifolia Fries., Rosa pendulina L. i innych Rosa L. sp. na szczeć — Dipsacus L. sp., świerzbnicę polną — Knautia arvensis (L.) Coult., a na północy kraju i w górach także na wierzbówkę kiprzycę — Chamaenerion angustifolium (L.) Scop. i kozłek bzowy — Valeriana sambucifolia Mik. Szkodnik róż i wektor kilkunastu chorób wirusowych.
