Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1986c:
Rozpowszechniony w niemal całej Europie, docierający w Fennoskandii do koła podbiegunowego, notowany poza tym z Syberii, Kaukazu, Azji Mniejszej i Iranu. W Polsce jest chrząszczem pospolitym, występującym od Bałtyku aż po Tatry. Zasiedla tereny nizinne i górzyste, dochodząc w Sudetach do około 1150 m n.p.m. Odbywa rozwój w suchym, zmurszałym drewnie, pod odstającą korą, w suchych dziuplach. Imagines bywają poławiane głównie w czerwcu i lipcu na trawach, kłosach zbóż i kwiatach roślin zielnych.
