Burakowski et al. 1978:

Gatunek o niedostatecznie poznanym rozmieszczeniu, wykazywany z południowej i zachodniej Europy oraz z zachodniej części środkowej Europy, notowany również z północnej Afryki. W Polsce chrząszcz nadzwyczaj rzadko spotykany. Znajdowany pod padliną, gnijącymi szczątkami roślinnymi i w nawozie.
