Gatunek rozsiedlony w południowo-wschodniej części Europy Środkowej, docierający na wschód przez Rumunię i Półwysep Bałkański do Anatolii i strefy stepów europejskiej części byłego ZSRR. W Polsce znany dotychczas tylko z jednej krainy. Występuje na polach, przydrożach, suchych i ciepłych zboczach oraz miejscach ruderalnych. Żyje na różnych roślinach krzyżowych — Cruciferae, zwłaszcza na pszonakach — Erysimum L.
