Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 2000:
Gatunek opisany z Kirgizji i południa europejskiej części Rosji; do niedawna mało znany, gdyż notowany jako odmiana Melanophthalma transversalis (Gyll.) obecnie traktowanego jako takson zbiorczy grupujący 5 gatunków, w tym Melanophthalma suturalis Motsch. uznany jako samodzielny gatunek. Według W. H. Rückera (1992) występuje w Anglii, Szwecji, Finlandii, Hiszpanii, we Francji, w Niemczech, Szwajcarii, Czechosłowacji, Jugosławii, na Węgrzech, Ukrainie, w Rosji i Gruzji. Wprawdzie K. Letzner (1888) podał Melanophthalma transversalis var. suturalis (Gyll.) z pięciu krain (Śląsk Dolny i Górny, Sudety Zachodnie i Wschodnie oraz Beskid Zachodni), ale wobec zaginięcia okazów dowodowych, nie wiadomo jakiego gatunku to doniesienie dotyczyło (Borowiec i Kania 1995). Obecnie omawiany gatunek stwierdzono na trzech stanowiskach na podstawie czterech okazów. Bionomia nie jest znana. Występuje głównie na miejscach wilgotnych, na łąkach, pobrzeżach lasu, w dolinach rzecznych i na brzegach wód. Poławiany na krzakach, roślinności zielnej i trawach, zwłaszcza turzycach — Carex L.
