Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1986a:

Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony w Europie, oraz Afryce Północnej; notowany nadto z Kaukazu, Azji Mniejszej i Syberii, przy czym w obrębie swego areała w miarę posuwania się z północy na południe jest coraz częściej spotykany. W Polsce występuje prawdopodobnie na całym obszarze, jednak wykazany jest z nielicznych stanowisk w różnych częściach kraju. Znajdowany w ciągu roku, najliczniej we wrześniu-listopadzie, w pryzmach kompostowych, pod rozkładającymi się szczątkami roślinnymi, wśród siana i słomy, pod wypielonym zielskiem. Na Węgrzech spotykano go w gniazdach bocianich. Obserwowano przyloty do źródeł światła sztucznego.
