Szeroko rozprzestrzeniony w Europie.
Gatunek holocykliczny i jednodomny. Monofag na niezapominajce błotnej — Myosotis palustris (L.) Nathorst. Żeruje w zwiniętych liściach, rzadziej na kwiatach.
