Taxon description
Gatunek kosmopolityczny, prawdopodobnie pochodzenia palearktycznego.
Gatunek różnodomny i holocykliczny, ale często i u nas anholocykliczny. Migruje z brzoskwini — Persica vulgaris Mill, i kolcowoju — Lycium halimifolium Mill. na różne rośliny zielne, zwłaszcza krzyżowe i psiankowate. U nas znaleziony na Solanum tuberosum L., Solanum lycopersicum L., Solanum melongena L., Nicotiana tabacum L., Caspicum annuum L., Descurainia sophia (L.) Webb., Brassica oleracea L., Capsella bursa-pastoris (L.) Med., Beta vulgaris L., Cucurbita pepo L., Cucumis sativus L., Plantago media L., Chrysanthemum indicum L. (hort.), Senecio vulgaris L., Taraxacum officinale Web., Asparagus officinalis L., Cineraria L. sp., Fuchsia L. sp. Szkodnik warzyw, okopowych i roślin ozdobnych. Notowany jako wektor około 100 chorób wirusowych.
