Szelegiewicz 1968:
Gatunek kosmopolityczny, prawdopodobnie pochodzenia orientalnego.
Polifag żerujący na bardzo wielu roślinach, preferujący rośliny z rodziny obrazkowatych i liliowatych. U nas anholocykliczny, zadomowiony w szklarniach, przechowalniach itp. Znaleziony u nas na Solanum tuberosum L., Calla L. sp., Cineraria L. sp., Tulipa L. sp. Notowany jako wektor licznych chorób wirusowych.
