Taxon description
Gatunek obejmujący zasięgiem Europę Południową, Afrykę Północną, Azję Mniejszą i Środkową; granica północna rozsiedlenia przebiega przez środkową Francję, wyżyny niemieckie, południową Polskę, Podole aż po północny Kazachstan. W Polsce chrząszcz mało znany, notowany z kilku stanowisk w trzech krainach. Zasiedla wilgotne łąki i zarośla, gdzie poławiany głównie na jaskrze rozłogowym — Ranunculus repens L.
