Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1976:
Gatunek rozmieszczony w południowo-wschodniej Europie i w części południowej środkowej Europy, podawany też z Azji Mniejszej, Kaukazu oraz Ameryki Północnej. W Polsce dotychczas nie odnaleziony. Wzmianka W. F. Erichsona (1845) o występowaniu w Polsce, oparta prawdopodobnie na mylnym oznaczeniu, była następnie bezkrytycznie powtarzana przez innych autorów. Istnieje jednak możliwość znalezienia go w pierwotnych lasach na południu kraju, gdyż ostatnio był wykazany ze Słowacji. Żyje w zbutwiałych drzewach liściastych, zwłaszcza w bukach i dębach.
