Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1983:
Gatunek ponto-medyterraneński, występujący w południowo-wschodniej części Europy, w południowej części Ukraińskiej SRR, na Krymie, w Azji Mniejszej, Syrii, Zakaukaziu i Mezopotamii. W Europie Środkowej wkracza na północ przez Węgry do południowej Słowacji, gdzie niedawno został odkryty. W Polsce dotychczas z całą pewnością jeszcze nie stwierdzony. Ogólnikowo ze Śląska wykazany na początku ubiegłego wieku, jednak dane te nie zostały później potwierdzone w spisie chrząszczy śląskich (Gerhardt 1910). Występuje w ekskrementach bydła i owiec
