Taxon description
Endemiczny gatunek karpacki, rozsiedlony od Siedmiogrodu po Tatry i Beskid Zachodni. W Polsce chrząszcz ten należy do rzadkości — notowano go z Babiej Góry i nielicznych stanowisk w Tatrach. Bionomia tego gatunku nie jest dokładnie poznana. Na Babiej Górze spotykany w lipcu i sierpniu pod kamieniami w strefie kosodrzewiny. S. Stobiecki (1883) łowił go w dużej ilości w połowie lipca, niektóre osobniki podczas kopulacji.
