Taxon description
Gatunek górski o słabo poznanym rozsiedleniu; notowany z Półwyspu Bałkańskiego, Karpat, Sudetów, Alp i Średniogórza Niemieckiego. Tworzy liczne rasy lokalne. W Polsce chrząszcz należy do wielkich rzadkości. Jest notowany tylko z jednego stanowiska w Beskidzie Zachodnim na podstawie znaleziska sprzed przeszło 70 lat. Ogólnikowe wzmianki ze Śląska, Tatr i Karpat, bez szczegółowych danych, nie odnoszą się do naszego obszaru i wymagają potwierdzenia nowymi materiałami (Mroczkowski i Stefańska 1992). Zasiedla tereny lesiste. Bionomia zbadana niedostatecznie. Samce nie są znane.
