Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1993:
Gatunek górski, rozsiedlony od Lasu Czeskiego przez Karpaty po Alpy Transylwańskie. W Polsce ryjkowiec pospolity w obrębie całego łuku karpackiego. Występuje od regla dolnego po strefę alpejską. Jest spotykany od wiosny do jesieni pod opadłymi gałązkami i igliwiem, gnijącym drewnem, wśród mchów oraz wśród kęp trawy i ich korzeni. Rozmnaża się partenogenetycznie, w jądrach komórkowych stwierdzono 33 chromosomy.
