Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1983:
Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony od Anglii i Szkocji południowej, Danii i Szwecji południowej przez całą Europę środkową aż do Hiszpanii i Włoch. Wszędzie zaliczany do wielkich rzadkości. W Polsce notowany tylko z trzech izolowanych stanowisk, przy tym o dawnych danych z Pucka i byłych Prus wątpi A. Horion (1955). Również G. Czwalina (1888) określa ten gatunek z listy chrząszczy pruskich. Zamieszkuje głównie tereny nizinne. Występuje na roślinności w jeziorach i zbiornikach torfowiskowych oraz w ich bliskim otoczeniu.
