Taxon description
Szelegiewicz 1968:
Europa: Anglia, Szwecja, Niemcy, Polska, Austria, Włochy.
Biologia bliżej nieznana. Börner (1952) uważa go za gatunek anholocykliczny. Żyje na spodniej stronie liści niespokrewnionych z sobą roślin z różnych rodzin, zwłaszcza z wargowych i szorstkolistnych. U nas znaleziony na smotrawie okazałym — Telekia speciosa (Schreb.) Baumg. z rodziny złożonych. Z dotychczasowych danych wynika, że mszyca ta wybiera jako żywicieli rośliny, które charakteryzują się szorstką powierzchnią liści (szałwia, farbownik, żywokost, smotrawa itp.).
