Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1979:
Gatunek pospolity, rozpowszechniony w Europie od Wysp Brytyjskich i południowej części Fennoskandii aż do krajów śródziemnomorskich, notowany również z Kaukazu i Syberii. W Polsce dość pospolity na niżu, w górach rzadziej spotykany. Występuje w grzybach nadrzewnych i naziemnych, larwy odżywiają się ich miąższem, a postacie dorosłe poza tym prowadzą drapieżny sposób życia polując głównie na larwy muchówek i innych owadów grzybożernych.
