Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1987:

Gatunek o szerokim rozprzestrzenieniu, notowany z Europy, Afryki Północnej, Madery, Syrii, Japonii, Jawy i Ameryki Północnej. W Polsce znany z nielicznych miejscowości tylko w sześciu krainach. W Europie środkowej występuje głównie jako synantrop w spichrzach, magazynach, młynach, piekarniach, gdzie żeruje na zbożu i jego przetworach. Rzadziej był znajdowany poza zabudowaniami, np. pod odstającą korą buków.
