Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1974:
Gatunek o szerokim rozmieszczeniu. Zasiedla prawie całą Europę, na północ dociera do Wysp Brytyjskich, Danii i południowej części Fennoskandii, na południe sięga do północnej Afryki, na wschód do zachodniej Azji. Występuje na odkrytych, nasłonecznionych miejscach na glebach piaszczystych i żwirowatych, rzadko pokrytych roślinnością kserofilną. Spotykany również na wydmach nadmorskich utrwalonych piaskownicą zwyczajną — Ammophila arenaria Link. i wydmuchrzycą piaskową — Elymus arenarius L.
