Europa, w środkowej Europie sporadycznie.
Gatunek holocykliczny i różnodomny. Migruje z lipy — Tilia cordata Mill, na podziemne części obrazków plamistych. Na lipie powoduje skręcanie się ogonków liściowych i zbijanie się liści w luźne gniazda. Kolonie tej mszycy odwiedzane są na lipie przez mrówki.
