Taxon description
Szeroko rozmieszczony na Syberii i w Mongolii. Wraz z rośliną zawleczony do Europy: Szwecja, Karelska ASRR.
Powoduje powstawanie na topoli laurolistnej podobnych wyrośli jak Pemphigus lichtensteini Tullgr. Cykl życiowy nie znany. U nas znaleziono jedynie wyrośle na Populus berolinensis Dipp. (mieszaniec Populus laurifolia Ldb. x Populus italica Mnch.). Występowanie w Polsce wymaga więc jeszcze potwierdzenia. Börner (1952) podaje mylnie jako roślinę żywicielską tego gatunku topolę czarną.
