Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1993:
Gatunek obejmujący zasięgiem południową część Fennoskandii (w Szwecji docierający do kola podbiegunowego) i Europę Wschodnią, na wschód docierający do Syberii Zachodniej i Krymu. W Polsce należy do rzadkości, osiągając tu zachodnią granicę występowania. Notowano go z nielicznych stanowisk rozmieszczonych tylko w trzech krainach. Zasiedla murszejące drewno obumierających lub martwych drzew liściastych. Spotykany w pniach i pieńkach buków, dębów, klonów, jesionów, wiązów, lip, topoli i kasztanowców. Bionomia słabo poznana. Postacie dojrzałe poławiano od września do lipca roku następnego. Larwy żerują w wilgotnym butwiejącym drewnie.
