Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1990a:
Bardzo rzadki gatunek europejski, znany dotychczas z nielicznych stanowisk w południowej części Francji i Szwajcarii, północnych i środkowych Włoszech, Austrii, Czechosłowacji, Mołdawii i Ukrainy. W Polsce z całą pewnością nie stwierdzony. Dawne dane o jego występowaniu na Śląsku opierały się prawdopodobnie na okazach zawleczonych z drewnem albo mylnie zaetykietowanych. O zasiedleniu Śląska wątpił J. Gerhardt (1891e) i później (1910) autor ten nie zaliczył Ph. (Paraphymatodes) fasciatus (Vill.) do fauny Śląska. Bionomia tego gatunku poznana jest niedostatecznie. Postacie dojrzałe obserwowano w maju i czerwcu podczas lotów i na pędach roślin lęgowych, jakimi są: winibluszcz pięciolistkowy — Parthenocissus quinquefolia (L.) Planch. i winorośl właściwa — Vitis vinifera L. Larwy żerują pod korą pędów, drążąc nieregularne, głębokie chodniki. Przed zimą wchodzą głębiej w drewno. Generacja jednoroczna. W Europie Zachodniej miejscami wyrządza szkody w uprawach winorośli.
